Truth number 03: A renewed mind is like a goldmine.

Bible talks about renewing our mind with the word of God. Because what we carry in our mind defines who we are and who we become.

We are shaped by our thoughts. Moreover, where we will reach in the journey of life is based on what we carry in our mind.

So, what are you carrying in your mind? Are we thinking of things that build us or break us? I will leave these questions for you to think.

Here is a fun fact for you. “Experts estimate that the mind thinks between 60,000 – 80,000 thoughts a day. That’s an average of 2500 – 3,300 thoughts per hour.”

It amazing to know what our mind is capable of, at the same time we are left with an important question. How many of those thoughts build us for good?

Presently as the world is going through a major crisis to do with the COVID-19, I believe many people are in a place of fear, anxiety and panic. In a situation like this, It’s easy to entertain negativity and open door for destruction.

But, how about we understand and see what the most powerful book in the world has to tell us. What God wants for us is not destruction but construction, of strong men and women with noble and powerful thoughts.

Now take some time to carefully read these Bible portions

Romans 12: 2

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Isaiah 26:3

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you.

Philippians 2:5

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

When the world, media, or friends may have influence, on you such as fear, panic, insecurity, lustful thinking, thoughts on failure, shame or guilt.

A Bible reading man or a woman has thoughts that are positioned to reach greater heights. Not only heights in terms of knowing God more. We reach heights in all the areas including our studies, work, family, finances, health & wellbeing etc.

In summary, let me highlight these for you

  1. There is peace in the midst of crises for those with a renewed mind.

  2. Remember, we have a mind of Christ when we are rooted in God’s love and truth.

  3. We are not of the world to think like the word. We are a new creation in Christ.

  4. Renewing our mind is a process, so be intentional about making it a treasure box.

  5. Today, think the right things, read the right things, take time to pray, indulge in good company and good conversations that will benefit us, etc.

Thank you for taking the time to read. God bless you.
